Steel framing questions, answered
Straight answers about what we make, where we supply and how quoting works.
About BWG
Where is BWG Steel Framing located?
Our factory is at 2 Harm Drive, Crowley Vale QLD 4342, in the Lockyer Valley between Gatton and Laidley. It is our only manufacturing location; the towns we service are delivery areas, not branches.
What does BWG Steel Framing make?
Light gauge steel wall frames, roof trusses and floor systems, supplied separately or together as a complete framing kit, plus steel framing for industrial sheds and warehouse projects.
What steel do you use?
Our framing is roll-formed from Australian BlueScope TRUECORE® steel.
Do you install frames?
No. We design, engineer, manufacture and deliver framing kits. Installation is carried out by your crew or framing contractor.
Service areas
Which areas do you service?
Toowoomba, the Lockyer Valley and Darling Downs; Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan and the Redlands; the Scenic Rim; the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers NSW; the Sunshine Coast; Moreton Bay and Gympie; the Fraser Coast and Wide Bay; and the Gladstone region. See the service areas page for the full list of towns.
Do you deliver outside those areas?
Some towns are outside our current service bands. If your site isn't listed, call us and we'll tell you whether we can help.
Quotes and orders
What do I need to send for a quote?
Floor plans, elevations, sections and roof plan; engineering drawings if available; the wind and site classifications; the roofing material; the site suburb; and whether you need walls, trusses, floor or a full kit.
How do I send large plan files?
The quote form accepts files up to 4 MB. For larger drawing sets, submit the form without the files and email them to enquiries@bwgsteelframing.com.au, quoting the reference number you receive.
How long does it take to get frames?
Lead times depend on the job size, design and production schedule, so we confirm them in your quote rather than quoting a generic figure.
Can I talk to someone before sending plans?
Yes. Call 07 2142 1772 or request a callback from the contact page.
Design and compliance
Are your frames engineered?
Every project is supported by shop drawings and engineering documentation prepared for that job, designed for the site's wind classification and site conditions.
Can you do cyclonic sites?
Yes. Frames and trusses can be engineered for cyclonic classifications, such as sites in the Gladstone region, which Queensland Government guidance places in Wind Region C.
Are steel frames termite-proof?
Steel is not a food source for termites, so the structural frame is protected. The building still needs any termite management the NCC requires for its other parts.
